Mazatlán Beaches – Mazatlán is known for its magnificent beaches – great for swimming, beachcombing and in places one can experience the thrill of surfing. Miles of sand with endless, white crested waves draw you to enjoy its invigorating and rejuvenating power or to just lay back and soak up the sun. At a low ocean tide you’re able to walk out for more than 60 meters and also the water temperature is very warm at 65-75 degrees (Fahrenheit) all year long.
Mazatlan has various beaches of all kinds. Surfers or people who like big waves will like Olas Altas, Playa Los Pinos by Valentino’s or Playa Bruja, which is north of Cerritos. Punta Camaron and Playa Sabalo are on opposite side of Valentinos in the Golden Zone theres usually surfers there. If you want to just lounge around in the sun you should check out Playa Norte in Olas Altas.
If you desire beaches that party check out Playa Las Gaviotas and Playa Sabalo that are at Zona Dorada. Also you can take a trip to the beach on the islands. Isla de Venado (called Deer island) is a relaxing beach and there is a fantastic view of Mazatlan. You can get there by renting a boat or kayak. Isla de la Piedra (Stone Island) is a very tropical clean beach with Palm tree all around. In the Zona Dorada, or “Golden Zone”, where the nicest hotels, restaurants and shops are located, there is several beautiful beaches there. Playa Las Gaviotas is fabulous but it always has lots of people. Playa Sabalo, which is located in the northwest area, is mazatlan’s favorite beach. Tourists, sellers and surfer dudes are all along the beach.
If you’re looking for a more private area, walk to the south end where there is less people and the beauty is less. Playa Olas Altas is the place where surfers can get the largest waves, especially in the summer.
However if you really would like to avoid the crowded beaches, just take a trip north of the Golden Zone, where you’ll find Mazatlan’s lovely, uncrowded beaches. Playa Bruja Mazatlan trip’s favorite, just north of the Golden Zone, is an hidden beach. Playa Los Cerritos is the fantastic place to enjoy the things that make Mazatlan famous for stretches its white sand.

Playa Norte :
Extending from where Paseo Claussen becomes Av. del Mar, is a wide, clean white strip of beach, stretching for about 3 miles. This beach is popular with the locals, and is usually uncrowded except for holidays. Near the north end of the beach closer to Valentino’s Disco, the beginner and intermediate surfers take to the waves. Further along the point, those who like to fish find there are great spots for casting off the rocks. Take a trip to Mazatlán! |

Isla de la Piedra :
